First Impressions: Estée Lauder Skincare

I recently decided to branch out and try some skincare products from Estée Lauder, a brand that I had never tried before.  I used to associate Estée Lauder as a beauty line strictly for older women, however, I’ve been more inclined to give it a try since beautiful celebrities such as Eva Mendes, Kendall Jenner, and Victoria Beckham have all endorsed it!

I went to Nordstrom to speak to a beauty advisor to get some recommendations.  I explained my skin type (combination-oily and acne prone), some of my concerns (I needed something that would provide moisture, but not add a greasy feeling to my skin), and lastly what I was hoping to get out of a skincare line (mainly anti-aging, pore reducing, and moisturizing).  Here is what I purchased!

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye – 0.5 oz (click here) $60.00

If I were to recommend just one item from this post, this would be it!  I’ve used my fair share of eye creams, and this one has quickly become a top favorite.  Within the short time that I’ve used this product, I feel like I have noticed less puffiness and dark circles in my under eye area, which I’m very happy with.  The product also comes with a small applicator which allows for a light-handed application on your under eye area as opposed to just using your fingers – go easy on that delicate skin!

Estée Lauder DayWear Matte – 1.7 oz (click here) $54.00

This item is actually my least favorite from this purchase.  I was recommended the Matte option due to my oily skin concerns, however I think that this moisturizer would be best suited for users with oily skin only, and not combo-oily skin.  I feel moisturized for a couple of hours after I apply it, but after that my skin does get a tad “thirsty”.  Another downside to this product is that it does not provide any SPF coverage.  On a positive note, it does have a cooling gel-like consistency along with a light cucumber scent to it which is pleasant.

Estée Lauder NightWear Plus – 1.7 oz (click here) $56.00

I am having more luck with this nighttime moisturizer in comparison to its daytime counterpart!  It is creamier in consistency, as opposed to the gel-like texture in the DayWear Matte, and because of that I find it to be way more moisturizing.  This also has a light cucumber scent to it which again, I do like, and it does typically fade within a minute or so after applying.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair – 1 oz (click here) $65.00

All I know is that this product makes my skin feel so good as soon as I apply it!  It has a typical serum-like consistency and takes just a few minutes to absorb into my skin. It does not have a smell to it that I’ve noticed so far, which I actually prefer in a serum as I find that most moisturizers that are applied right after the serum are more likely to have the scent-factor.

Overall, I’m glad I branched out and gave Estée Lauder a try!  I will definitely repurchase the Advanced Night Repair, for both face and eye, but I will try to find a different day and night moisturizer when I run out of these to see what else the brand has to offer.  If you have tried any other moisturizers from this brand and had a positive experience, or any other skincare products that you absolutely loved, please let me know!  I’ll be back in a couple of months after testing these products out with an in-depth review.
