August Favorites

August Favorites

Hi All!

I’m back!  I’ve had a busy past few weeks here and I haven’t been able to keep up with blogging as much as I’d like to, but I’m hoping to get back into a normal schedule moving forward!  I’d like to start off this week’s post by recapping my August favorites, so let’s get started!

First up is the sunscreen that I’ve been using all month by Neutrogena and it’s the Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock Broad Spectrum SPF 70.  This is a really lightweight formula that does not have a strong sunscreen-y smell to it.  I strongly dislike the scent of sunscreens and how thick and sticky they can sometimes feel, but this product is just the opposite of that!  I also like that it’s non-comedogenic!

The next product has been my go to concealer for a bit now, but especially in the month of August and it’s the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer (if you haven’t read my recent post about it, you can check it out here 👉 My Go-to Under Eye Combo)!  This provides the coverage that I’m looking for and it does not crease on me 🙌.

The last beauty product is also something that I’ve mentioned in a recent post, the Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals.  The price point, the color payoff, the longevity – just 🙌!  If you don’t own this already and you’re into highlighters, I highly recommend it!  It also now comes in 6 different shades so I’m thinking there’s an option for everyone’s taste!

My first skincare favorite is the Foreo Luna Mini 2 Compact Facial Cleansing Device.  I received this as a gift in July and have not stopped using it ever since.  I find that I cannot use this at night if I’ve worn a full face of makeup (I broke out the couple of times that I tried to use this over my Clarisonic) but this has become my go to in the morning and on nights where I did not wear makeup during the day!  It really does feel like a mini-massage which is a nice treat each time that I reach for it.IMG_2884

The other skincare item that I’ve been loving is this sample sized moisturizer by Estée Lauder, the Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Creme.  I really am enjoying this product, but once it runs out, it’s out because the price point on this item is wayyy out of my price range for a skincare item!  But if anyone is interested in it, it has a very pleasant light scent to it and the moisture that it provides is pure perfection.  It makes my skin feel extremely moisturized without feeling like I have too much product on my face and my makeup sits on top of this beautifully.

The one nail polish that I wore a lot (but ironically not on the day that I took these photos) is from the new Fall 2017 collection by Essie and it’s the polish called Mixtaupe.  This is described as a “warm ivory with a hint of pink”.  If you’re into the off white nail polish colors, definitely check this shade out!

I’ve mentioned in a previous post that I love office supplies and wish that I could be a professional back to school shopper for people, and in the spirit of back-to-school shopping I’ve recently restocked on some of my favorite Sharpie items!

I LOVE the way that Sharpie pens write and how they don’t bleed through paper!  And here are a few other random favorites from this month…

  • MOVIE:   Moana (I watched it 3 more times in the month of August 😆)
  • SONG:     Watcha Gon’ Do? by Puff Dadd ft. Notorious BIG & Rick Ross
  • NETFLIX BINGE SHOW:   I re-watched Parks and Rec, and per usual, loved every second of it!
  • SNACK:   Doritos Spicy Nachos

I hope everyone is having a great start to September!

June 2017 Favorites

June 2017 Favorites

Hi All!

Today marks my official 4-week point since I published my very first post – woohoo 🎉!  I can’t believe that it’s been a month already.  I’ve had a lot of fun writing and sharing, I’ve learned a lot, and most importantly – I’ve met so many awesome and supportive bloggers through this new journey!  Since this Friday is the last day of the month, I’ve decided to do my first ever monthly favorites post to finish off June.  I will be sharing the things that I’ve either been reaching for constantly, or things that every time I pick it up I think to myself, ‘thank goodness I have this’.  I hope you enjoy!

  1. Marc Jacobs – Daisy Eau So Fresh Perfume (here) – $96.00 USD.  This is the only floral scent that I’ve ever purchased because I gravitate towards fruity scents, but the fragrance is described as floral-fruity, so that’s why I love it!  It’s a beautiful, light, and fresh perfume that I love to use during warmer months!Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh
  2. Bath and Body Works – Midnight Blue Citrus 3-Wick Candle (here) – $24.50 USD.  I love all things fruity scented – perfume, body spray, shampoo/conditioner, and candles.  On the website, the fragrance is detailed as juicy citrus, fresh spring water, and sweet mango.  If you love a light fruity scent, I highly recommend this candle!

  3. ORLY – ‘Kiss the Bride’ Nail Polish (here) – $7.99 USD.  I’ve used this polish a lot this month.  It’s such a pretty pinkish-white color that goes with everything!  (FYI – It’s not the color on my nails in these pics.)ORLY Nail Polish Kiss the Bride
  4. Nintendo 3DS – Pokémon Sun (here) – $39.99 USD.  I got a Nintendo 3DS XL last holiday season and bought a few games, but I loved this game so much that after I got through it the first time, I decided to start the whole thing over!Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Sun
  5. Peter Thomas Roth – Oily Problem Skin Instant Mineral Powder SPF 30 (here) – $30.00 USD.  I love to carry this with me so that I can reapply an SPF throughout the day.  I don’t like to apply a liquid sunscreen over my makeup during the day, so I’ll do a few swipes of this over my makeup whenever I’m out and about, and I like that it doesn’t move my makeup around too much, if any at all!Peter Thomas Roth
  6. Origins – Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gel (here) – $16.00 USD.  I have been using this for years, but I’m adding it to this month’s favorites.  After all of the junk food that I ate at the San Diego County Fair 2017, my skin was not pleased with me.  I used this on a few problem spots that appeared the day after the fair, and they were gone within a day or two because of this product!Origins Super Spot Remover
  7. NARS – NARSissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette (here) – $59.00 USD.  If you haven’t seen my review of this yet, you can check it out here 👉 Review: NARS Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette.  I have not stopped using this palette!  I love the warm tones and all the different looks that you can create with this palette.NARS NARSissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette
  8. For the last product in the picture, I don’t have a link for it because this was gifted to me by my sister who currently lives in China, which is where she purchased it!  It’s a phone battery case (you can get those at the Apple Store or any electronic store).  It’s so convenient because I tend to forget to charge my phone, and if I’m going to be somewhere where I won’t be able to charge it at my destination (i.e. the fair last weekend), this saves my phone life!  Here’s one that I’ve seen at Best Buy Mophie Juice Pack Reserve.  (I have an iPhone so that’s what I linked as an example, but I haven’t done research on what’s available for other types of phones).

And here are a few other random favorites for the month of June:

  • New activity: Blogging, of course!
  • Movie that I saw in theaters: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol: 2
  • Netflix show: Young and Hungry
  • Snack: Terra Chips (I showed them on my Insta Live – follow me (here) if you haven’t already so that we can be Instagram friends too!)
  • Ice cream flavor: Cotton Candy (no surprise there) from Cold Stone and Baskin Robbins!

Well that about wraps up my first ever monthly favorites post.  I’d love to hear what products/foods/shows/etc. that you loved so that I can check them out as well!

Have a wonderful and safe pre-4th of July weekend!
